	GNAT, the GNU Ada Translator.

Distribution:

	GNAT is distributed under the terms and conditions of the GNU
	General Public License.  A copy of this license is included in
	the tar archive gnat-1.83-sgi-irix5.2-bin.tar in the file
	COPYING.

	The source for GNAT version 1.83 can be obtained via anonymous
	ftp from cs.nyu.edu in the directory /pub/gnat.  This release
	contains only sources to the runtime library components, and any
	compiler sources modified relative to the base 1.83 release on
	cs.nyu.edu.

Instructions:

	The tar file is compressed using gzip, the GNU Zip utility.
	The corresponding decompression utility, gunzip, is provided
	in executable form in this directory.  gzip/gunzip is available
	in source form via anonymous ftp from:

	   prep.ai.mit.edu:/pub/gnu/gzip-1.2.4.tar
	   cs.nyu.edu:/pub/gnat/gzip-1.2.4.tar

	and a host of mirror sites.  Check archie for a site near you.

	Copy the file gnat-1.83-sgi-irix5.2-bin.tar.gz to a convenient
	directory, e.g. /usr/gnat, and issue the following commands

	   % gunzip gnat-1.83-sgi-irix5.2-bin.tar.gz
	   % tar xvf gnat-1.83-sgi-irix5.2-bin.tar

	You will now have a directory gnat-1.83-sgi-irix5.2-bin, and several
	subdirectories.  Follow the instructions in the README file to
	install the executables in a directory of your choice, and build
	the run-time library from the sources provided.  The file
	README.SGI describes any SGI specific features or limitations of
	this release.
